Surgical Services

At Arrow Dog and Cat Hospital, our Montclair veterinarians Dr. Nichole Agarwal and Dr. Rey Tibayan perform spay, neuter, orthopedic, emergency and dental surgeries in our state-of-the-art surgical center. Whether it is a routine spay or neuter procedure or a life-threatening emergency, you can count on our team’s years of experience to protect your pet’s health during surgery. To provide the most positive surgical experience possible, at Arrow Dog and Cat Hospital we follow strict guidelines for safety and pain management.  Your pet’s health and comfort are our top priorities, just as they are yours.

Surgery at Our Animal Hospital

Arrow Dog and Cat Hospital is a certified cat friendly hospital. To minimize the stress of visiting the veterinarian, we provide a separate entrance and lobby for cats and dogs at our animal hospital. We begin caring for your pet before it is even in the examination room! It is only natural to have questions before surgery for cats and dogs. Many pet owners worry about the use of anesthesia and ask if it is absolutely necessary. To alleviate concerns about the use of anesthesia, we conduct diagnostic blood tests prior to the procedure to ensure your pet is healthy enough to receive anesthesia. Your pet will be monitored closely by our team before, during and after the use of anesthesia.

Other questions that frequently arise include:

  • Can my pet eat before surgery? We recommend withholding food for at least 12 hours prior to the appointment. Your pet may have water.
  • How do I care for my pet after surgery? Our skilled team will review all post-operative care instructions with you before the animal is discharged. We can make suggestions on how to keep your pet quiet, how to administer pain management medications and educate you on the signs of post-surgery complications to watch out for.
  • Do I have to make an appointment for the spay-neuter clinic? Our Montclair spay and neuter clinic is a low-cost option available only to healthy pets. The clinic is open Wednesdays. Appointments are required and a $20 deposit is required.
  • What if I have more questions? Our animal hospital offices are open six days a week and we are happy to answer any questions you have before or after your pet’s surgery.

We understand that your pet is an important part of your family, and our entire team is dedicated to providing excellent care in all situations.

For regular wellness care, spay or neuter, orthopedic, dental or emergency surgery, we are your veterinarian in Montclair, CA.
