Dr. Sophie Hajialiakbar’s passion for veterinary medicine was born from her lifelong love of animals. It was nurtured through her experiences at a dairy farm and a low-cost vet clinic. Her academic journey at Cal Poly Pomona culminated in 2019, marked by her outstanding achievements on the Dean’s and President’s Lists and her active participation in the Knitting and Pre-Vet Clubs. Pursuing her passion, Dr. Hajialiakbar attained her DVM from Ross University, again earning a spot on the Dean’s List. Starting her career as an Associate Veterinarian, she has concentrated interest in surgery, neuromuscular disease, and client education, reflecting a broad and impactful approach to veterinary care. Dr. Hajialiakbar is an active member of the AVMA, CVMA, and SCVMA and contributes her time to Project Streetvet, highlighting her commitment to animal welfare beyond the clinic. The most rewarding aspect of her work is easing the concerns of pet owners and client education – demonstrating her compassionate approach. The most rewarding part of her job is comforting worried pet owners and client education. Outside of work, she cares for her pets, Violet, Petrie, and Rusty, while also enjoying concerts, playing pool, and maintaining her skills as a 2nd-degree black belt in MMA.
